The funeral service for Hugh E. Liebenow will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN with Pastor Jack Miller officiating Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery in Millville, MN.

Mr. Liebenow, 87, of rural Elgin, MN died Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Hugh Elmer Liebenow was born May 13, 1924 in Elgin, MN to Elmer and Cornelia (Engel) Liebenow. He attended Forest Mound Rural School. On June 18, 1958 he married Corinne Heins at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Hugh spent his entire lifetime in rural Elgin, MN and farmed within one mile of his birthplace. He was a member of the Farmington Town Board and held several positions for many years. Hugh enjoyed hunting, fishing, story-telling, card playing and dice games.

Hugh is survived by his wife, Corinne Liebenow of Elgin, MN; two daughters, Virginia (Richard) Lilla of Rochester, MN and Krista (Steven) Davies of Nodaway, IA; three sons, Fred (Kristie) Liebenow of Plainview, MN, Charles Liebenow of Oronoco, MN, , and Hanns Liebenow of Elgin, MN; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Fred, Jr.) Ohm and June (Verlynn) LeVan both of Elgin, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Friends and family may visit from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
