John Nagy, 71, of rural Kellogg, MN died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
John I. Nagy was born April 9, 1940 in Bokane, Croatia to Joseph and Theresa (Sampl) Nagy. At the age of 4 he and his family left Croatia and moved to Austria and in 1951 they came to America. He served in the US Army from 1961 to 1965. John worked as a meat packer in Chicago. After retirembent in 2002 he moved to the rural Plainview/Conception area to be closer to his "Minnesota Family".
John is survived by his mother, Theresa Sampl Nagy of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Louie Nagy of Chicago, IL and Joseph (Mari Beth) Nagy of Oak Lawn, IL; two sisters, Agnes Rodich and Mary (Steve) Tokic both of Oak Lawn, IL; and many friends in the Plainview/Conception area. He was preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Gus Rodich; and nephew, Tony Rodich. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29th, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in rural Kellogg, MN, with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at a later date in Chicago, IL with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery of Evergreen Park, IL.
