The Funeral Mass for Geraldine “Geri” Counter will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 837 Parkview Drive in Milton, WI with Father Jim Uppena officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Janesville, WI.

Ms. Counter, 83, of Rochester, MN died Friday evening, April 20, 2012 at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester, MN.

Geraldine Winifred Counter was born November 14, 1928, in Theilman, MN to William & Hazel (Baker) Counter. The family also lived in Lake City and Wabasha, MN before moving to Wisconsin in 1947. She attended school in Wabasha and graduated in 1949 from Taylor High School in Taylor, WI.

Geri was employed at Hollywood Theatres in La Crosse and Rochester, and worked for the Minnesota Amusement Co for 21 years. In 1971 she was employed by Mayo Clinic in Rochester as an Administrative Clerk in the Business Office until her retirement in 1992. Geri was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. She was a diehard Dodger Fan, and loved the Big Band era music and watching sports on T.V.

Geri is survived by three sisters, Maxine Garvalia of LaCrosse, WI, Kathleen (John) Nandory of Janesville, WI, and Marilyn Bersing of Stoughton, WI; two brothers, Kenneth (Barbara) Counter of Oshkosh, WI and John (Jean) Counter of Janesville, WI; sister-in-law, Carol Counter of Milton, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William, and one special brother-in-law, Vern Bersing.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday morning.
