The funeral service for Charles “Charley” A. VanHeiden will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17th, at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville, MN with Rev. Dr. Bob Summers officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery in Millville.

Mr. VanHeiden, 26, of Owens Crossroads, AL and formerly of Rochester, MN died Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Madison County, AL as the result of an automobile accident.

Charles Allen VanHeiden was born September 3, 1985 in Rochester, MN to Charles L. and Deborah (Parkinson) VanHeiden. He attended Sunset Terrace Elementary School, John Adams Middle School and John Marshall High School all in Rochester, MN. Charley had lived in Elgin, Minneapolis, Duluth and Rochester until 2010 when he moved to Alabama. He was employed at Tara Liners in New Hope, AL. Charley enjoyed acting, dancing, comedy, Bible Study, and various religions, he studied Mandarin Chinese, and loved reading, and was also a member of the U of M Ministry Institute in Minneapolis, MN.

Charley is survived by his mother, Deborah VanHeiden of Rochester, MN; one sister, Cassy Knudson of Fountain City, WI; one brother, Rick VanHeiden of Independence, IA; maternal grandmother & step-grandfather, Darlene and William Aufenthie of Rochester, MN; maternal grandfather, Allen Parkinson of Rochester, MN; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Knavel of Hazelton, IA. He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Thursday.
