Amy Marie Stoning, 39, left this earthly world from her home in Plainview to join her heavenly Father. She fought her battle with multiple sclerosis for 24 years with grace and dignity.

Amy was born in Rochester on a very cold night, January 1, 1977 to Gary and Julie (Schmoll) Stoning. She has resided all of her life in Plainview, attending Immanuel Lutheran School and graduating from Plainview – Elgin – Millville High School in 1995, also attending classes at RCTC and Cross Winds Colleges. During her school years, Amy participated in basketball, volley ball, track, band, chorus, and 4-H with her interests being photography, cooking, sewing, and pets. With her love of animals Amy had hoped to become a veterinarian. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Amy is survived by her parents, Gary and Julie Stoning of Plainview; two brothers, Brian Stoning and his wife Kara of Langdon, NH, and Aaron Stoning of Plainview; grandmother Elaine Stoning of Plainview; nephew Benjamin Stoning and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mortimer "Mort" Stoning, maternal grandparents, Robert and Elaine Schmoll, Aunt Sandra Oelkers, and Uncle James Schmoll.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, in Plainview. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow the service in Woodland Cemetery in rural Plainview.
