The funeral service for Ann Laqua will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany – rural Millville, with Father John Wilmot officiating.  Burial follow in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

Ann Rose Laqua, 88, of Millville, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center where she resided for a short time.  She was born August 14, 1930 at home in Gillford Township, Wabasha County, to Herman J. and Clara A. (Sexton) Laqua.

Ann grew up in the rural Millville area, she lived and farmed on the family farm where she had lived since the age of 2.  She always farmed the land with her parents until they passed away, and then with the help of Rudy Stensrud, she continued to farm.  Ann liked to go for rides through the countryside, she especially enjoyed being outdoors and tending to her gardens.  Ann drove school bus for her father's company, bussing children to Wabasha and Lake City schools.  Ann loved spoiling kids, telling stories and looking at pictures.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Ann is survived by a sister, Alice Majerus of Red Wing; and 16 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews; she is also survived by several friends whom she had become an extra Aunt to.  A special thank you to her great-niece, Sarah Latham of Mindoro, WI and family friend, Christopher Adler of Lake City for their care over the past 2 years.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Clara A. (Sexton) and Herman J. Laqua, sisters, Cecelia M. LaRocque, Helen T. Diderrich, and Joan M. Laqua, and brothers, Richard Laqua and Nicholas J. Laqua; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany – rural Millville and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
