Obituary

The funeral service for Ardell F. Brueske will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11 th , at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview with Pastor Tyrone Spenst officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Mr. Brueske, 86, of Eyota, died Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

Ardell Floyd Brueske was born November 25, 1927 in Winona, to Layton and Berneta (Thompson) Brueske. He attended school at Thompson School, Little Valley School and Elgin High School. On June 7, 1950 he married Elva Nies in Lancaster, WI. After their marriage they lived at Lancaster for two years. In 1952 they moved to a farm in the Plainview/Elgin area, and in 2004 moved to Eyota.

Ardell worked for the Marsden Company doing janitor work and at IBM in Rochester for six years. He previously worked as a farmer, and also at Lakeside Foods in Plainview before he retired. Ardell was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview, and the Plainview Men's Prayer Breakfast group.

Ardell is survived by two daughters, Laura (Rod) Vacura of Eyota, and Roselyn (John) Martin of Peyton, CO; two sons, Gary (Marla) Brueske of Eyota, and John (Dawn) Brueske of St. Charles; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Layton (Ruth) Brueske of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, two sisters, and one brother.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 th , at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.
