The funeral service for Ardyce "Ardie" Schroeder will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elgin Cemetery.

Ardyce Mae Schroeder, 81, of Elgin, passed away Friday morning, September 6, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center.  She was born January 28, 1938 in Elgin to Richard and Grace (Miller) Heyn.  She attended Holmes Elementary School in Rochester, and graduated from Rochester High School.  On July 16, 1965 she married Alton "Pike" Schroeder at Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Ardie has lived in Elgin since 1965, and worked part-time for the City of Elgin for a few years.  She also worked at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Plainview for several years.  Ardie worked as an Election Judge for the City of Elgin, and for several years worked as church secretary for Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester.  Then Ardie worked for 29 years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin as church secretary.  She was also a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, as well as teaching release time classes.  Ardie served as a Trinity Guild officer, and was in charge of the church "Event Decorations" for many years.  She enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens, and going hunting with her husband.

Ardie is survived by her husband, Alton "Pike" Schroeder of Elgin; daughters, Cheryl Lee (David) Theel of Millville, and Reneé Karen (Rev. Merlin) Stephan of Camp Lejeune, NC; 2 grandchildren, Mark (Monica) Theel, and April (Ethan) Wolf; 2 great-grandchildren, Carson and Hailey; and a sister-in-law, Char Heyn of Rochester.  She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Melissa, and brother, Dale.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorial are preferred.
