The funeral service for Arlis Vrieze-Duncan will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, at Hilltop Fellowship Church in rural Millville, with Pastor Steven Buss officiating.  Military Rites immediately following the service will be by the Millville Valley American Legion Post #579.  Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Preston.

Arlis Vrieze-Duncan, 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 27, 2019.  She was born December 9, 1962 to Avery and Donna (Kleinwort) Vrieze.  Arlis grew up on the family farm in the Spring Valley area, graduating from Stewartville High School in 1980.  Arlis entered into the US Army shortly after graduation.

Upon discharge Arlis returned to the area working for various businesses.  She worked for Mayo Clinic until her illness forced her to retire.  On May 30, 1997 Arlis married Bruce Duncan, they made their home in the Millville/Zumbro Falls area.

Arlis enjoyed camping, shopping, helped with Cub Scouts, 4-H, and was active in her church, a member of Hilltop Fellowship Church.  She was always pleased she shared a birthday with Donny Osmond.

Arlis is survived by Bruce Duncan, her son Carter, both of Millville; her mother Donna Vrieze of Spring Valley; brother, Henry (Sandi) Vrieze of Spring Valley; sisters, Marcella Boyer of Spring Valley, and Susan (Bruce) Hemphill of Apache Junction, AZ; and various relative.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends and family may visit from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Thursday.

Memorials are preferred to Hilltop Fellowship Church.
