Astrid "Kitty" Rotraud Jordan, 85, of Kasson, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She was born April 6, 1937, in Tilsit, East Prussia to Artur and Gerta (Erwin) Huebner. As a child, her family fled as WWII refugees from East Prussia to West Germany, and later as a young adult, Kitty relocated to the United States. Kitty became a naturalized citizen of the United States on April 20, 1970. On October 11, 1975, she married the love of her life William "Bill" Jordan, in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Kitty attended Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984. She worked as a Translator/Interpreter for Mayo Clinic for ten years. An accomplished artist and writer, Kitty loved to spend time painting, sketching, and working on her book about her life. Kitty had a strong will and was a four-time cancer survivor. She loved her family and spending time with them. In her later years, Kitty moved to Kasson and lived with her daughter, Vicky, and her family. She was a member of the Hilltop Fellowship Church in rural Millville.
Kitty is survived by her daughters, Susan Bass Elliott and Vicky (Mark) Garrison, and her husband's children, Scott Jordan, Bonny Kalb, Angela Schott, and Annette Emmons; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, and his daughter Barbara Morse.
A private graveside service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Thursday, March 2. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hilltop Fellowship Church at a later date to be announced.
Per Kitty's desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to The American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
