Audrey Mae Bornholdt, 86, of Eyota, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was born February 18, 1935, in Elgin to Carl and Neva (Dunn) Prescher. She grew up in the Elgin area attending Elgin Public School. She married Rodney Bornholdt on December 29, 1973.

Audrey farmed in the Plainview area in her early years, passing that farm on to the next generation. Then she moved to Wasioja with the love of her life, Rodney. They farmed along side of each other until the time of his death in 1990. Audrey then moved to Eyota, where she spent the rest of her days, surrounded by family and friends. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Audrey lived every moment of her life loving her family and has left each an every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild with special memories filled with love.

Audrey is survived by her children, Debbie (Jon) Ploof of Murfreesboro, TN, Gayle (Milo) Holderbecker of Bemidji, Vicky Elgen of Plainview, Rhonda (Jeff) Miller of Eyota, and Dale (Erin) Schumacher of Eyota; daughter-in-law, Barbara Schumacher of Plainview; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Donna Sprick of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Gary, a sister Nadine Zabel, a grand-daughter Tashina and a great-granddaughter Lexi.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Danielle Reuss officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A Private Family Burial will be in Elgin Cemetery. Friends are invited for a lunch at 110 Madison Avenue SW in Eyota following the burial. Memorials are preferred.
