The funeral service for Bethel M. Uecker will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service in the Elgin Cemetery.

Mrs. Uecker, 103, passed away on Friday evening, May 13, 2016 at St. Isidore Health Care Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview.

Bethel Marie Yunker was born July 13, 1912 in Fairfax, Minn., to William and Orpha (Giem) Uecker. She moved with her family to Rochester and attended elementary and high school in Rochester. On February 23, 1934 she married Milton Uecker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, he died September 24, 1988.

In 1937 the Uecker's moved to Elgin. Bethel did domestic cleaning for both residences and businesses for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and reading. Bethel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,and it's Ladies Aid.

Bethel is survived by a daughter, Anita McKay of Farmington, and a son, Charles "Charlie" (Dianne) Uecker of Plainview; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genevive Horvitz of Seattle, Wash., and Ramona Gunderson of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton, grandson Chad, two sisters, and three brothers.
