Betty Mae Holets, 87, of Wabasha, Minnesota passed away early Tuesday morning April 22, 2025, following a short battle with dementia at Gunderson St. Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha. She was born on October 1, 1937, in Fillmore, Minnesota to David and Hazel (Shaw) Vesey. Betty grew up attending schools in the Fillmore Area. On October 1, 1954, she married Laverne Holets, and they celebrated 58 years together before his passing in 2012.

Betty lived most of her lifetime in the Rochester and Wabasha areas of Minnesota. She was very well known as a Mortgage Loan Officer at different banks in the area. In her free time Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and friends, and spending time reading.

Betty is survived by her children, Steven (Theresa) Holets of Oronoco, Minnesota, Rene (Debbie) Holets of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Thomas (Marcia) Holets of Lake City, Minnesota, and Lory Holets of Red Wing, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Ann Copeman of Chatfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Joyce, and three brothers, Everett, Kenny, and Mike.

The family will host a Celebration of Life Gathering for Betty on Sunday, May 18, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Coffee Mill Golf Course in Wabasha, Minnesota.
