Betty Luella Shones, 94, of Plainview and formerly of Millville, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. She was born October 14, 1929, in Oakwood Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota to Cyril and Mary (Heddlesten) Plank. Betty attended Wabasha County School. On June 16, 1948, she married the love of her life, Sylvester Shones at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview.

Betty and Sylvester made their home in rural Millville where they farmed together until 1959. They then owned and operated Millville Feed Mill for 50+ years. Betty enjoyed spending time gardening, traveling, going fishing, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Betty is survived by her children, Kathleen "Sis" (Dan) Wolfe of Owatonna, Larry (Sue) Shones of Millville, Eugene (Carol) Shones of Lake City, Danny (Pam) Shones of Elgin, and Andy Shones of Kellogg; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, three brothers, and two sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany, rural Millville, with Deacon David Dose officiating. The burial will follow the service in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in West Albany. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
