The memorial service for Beverly Mix will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN with Bill Wohlers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Mrs. Mix, 87, of Pine Island and formerly of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Beverly Jane Brocker was born November 6, 1929 in Spring Valley to Alfred and Ella (DeVries) Brocker. She attended elementary school in Rudd, IA, Jr. High in Des Moines, IA, and graduated from high school in 1947 in Plymouth, IA. On June 19, 1948 she married Donald Mix in Plymouth, IA.

After marriage they lived in Mason City, IA until 1961 when they moved to Plymouth, IA until 1963, and moved to Waterloo, IA until 1980. They then moved to Dubuque, IA until 1989, when they moved back to Waterloo until 2007, when they moved to Plainview, MN. Beverly moved to Pine Island where she has been living for the past 5 years. Beverly was employed as a Northwestern Bell Phone Operator, at the Blackhawk County Auditor's Office in Iowa, and at Walmart. Beverly enjoyed playing Bingo and going to casinos. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved to ride the "Tilt-A-Whirl", and go camping. She was a former member of United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Beverly is survived by her children, Susan (Dallas) Tesmer of Plainview, Pamela (Mike) Olson of Newton, IA, and Gregory Mix of Waterloo, IA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Sickles of Lakeland, FL and a brother, Donald (Ginny) Brocker of Woodbury. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.

Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
