Bonita "Bonny" Agnes Peterson, 85, of Winona, and formerly of Mazeppa and Plainview, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Saint Anne Extended Health Care in Winona. She was born July 10, 1935 in Stockton, MN to Cornelius and Susan (Merchlewitz) Daniel. Bonny attended rural Winona County School and graduated from Cotter High School in 1953 in Winona. On June 18, 1955 she married Kenneth Peterson in Winona.

After high school and before her marriage Bonny worked for the FBI in Minneapolis. After marriage Bonny was employed as a floral designer at Ambrosia in Rochester for 10 years. The Peterson's lived in Mazeppa for 20 years, and then in 2004 they moved to Plainview. In 2015 Bonny moved to Winona. Bonny enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and canning the produce for her family. She also loved attending to her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed going to auctions, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Bonny was a former member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview.

Bonny is survived by her children, Tammy Kunde of Slidell, LA, Lisa (Daniel) Aul of Farmington, Kathy (Kevin) Ehlers of Rockford, Sarah Peterson of Rochester, Dan (Margaret) Peterson of Plum City, WI, Steve (Lynn) Peterson of Springfield, MO, and Andrew "Andy" (Christine) Peterson of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Diane Wells) Daniel of Altura.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson, one sister, and one brother.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany in rural Millville, with Father William Kulas and Deacon David Dose officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks are required and please practice the COVID-19 social distancing.
