The Funeral Mass for Carol M. Kane will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany, 30932 Highway 60, rural Millville, with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Kane, 88, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday morning, January 26, 2017 at Samaritan Bethany on Eighth in Rochester.

Carol Mary DeFrang was born November 17, 1928 in Lake City to John and Agatha (Koob) DeFrang. She attended rural Wabasha County School and McCahill High School in Lake City. On October 8, 1947 she married Leonard Kane in Lake City.

The Kane's farmed at Millville from 1947 to 1980, and then moved to Lake City for a year, before they moved to Rochester. Carol worked as a dietary aid until retiring in 1999. She was a former member of St. Patrick's Church Women's Guild. Carol enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, playing Bingo, trivia games, and doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and having breakfasts with friends. Carol especially loved to listen to Daniel O'Donnell and Irish Singer.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Curt) Wiebusch of Lake City, and Colleen (Steve) Landon of Oronoco; two sons, Thomas (Vickie) Kane of Millville, and Michael (Lora) Kane of Pine Island; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard "Dick" (Connie) DeFrang of Lake City, and Robert "Bob" DeFrang of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Pat.

Friends may call at Samaritan Bethany on Eighth Chapel, 24 8th Street NW in Rochester on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. when there will be a Eulogy Service. A Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
