Carole Muriel Heins, 78, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. She was born on June 9, 1945, in Hammond to Leonard and Evelyn (Dickman) Wegner. Carole attended school in Hammond. On August 3, 1966, she married Lorin Heins at Pine River, Minnesota.

Lorin and Carole farmed in rural Millville, Carole enjoyed helping her husband on the farm where they raised elk, buffalo, deer, zebra, and other exotic animals. She loved to spend time crafting and enjoyed playing polish poker with her friends at Green Prairie.

Carole is survived by her children, Lorna (Lynn) Rose, Paul (Shirley) Heins, Rick (Paula) Rask, and stepdaughter Anna (Wayne) Folkert; 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a stepson, Patrick, and a brother, Dennis.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the Millville Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel.
