Obituary

The funeral service for Cindy Ball will be on Wednesday, November 21, at the Church of Christ in Plainview at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Chuck Coggins and Pastor Bob Blanshan officiating.  A private family burial will be held later.

Cindy Lee Ball, 56, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday morning, November 17, 2018 peacefully at home with her husband at her side after a long battle with breast cancer.  She was born February 20, 1962 in Santa Barbara, CA to Farrell Lee Holton and Penny Cameron, and raised by her adoptive parents, Wayne and Judy Holton.  She attended school in Jamestown, KS graduating in 1979.  On September 11, 1984 she married Scott Kenneth Ball in Stewartville.

Cindy had multiple occupations, but the most notable are her times at Lake Side, the nursing home, High Plains, and her most recent Mayo Clinic as a hospital operator.  She enjoyed going fishing, hiking, gardening, kayaking, photography, traveling, and was an animal lover. Cindy enjoyed life to the fullest, and had a personality of funny, outgoing, and a fun spirit.  She especially enjoyed family time and being with her grandchildren.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Scott K. Ball of Plainview, children, Clarisa (Tony) Murphy of Plainview, Scott (Misty) Ball II of Plainview, and Brittney (Chase) Balzum of Lake City; her mother Penny Holton of California; adoptive parents, Wayne and Judy Holton of Kansas; six grandchildren, Lillian, Adalyn, Emalin, Aubrey Lee, Chloe, and William Scott; sisters, Krista Kay (Donald) Barnes, Georgiana (Robert) Galante, and a brother, Timothy (Kim) Marshall; and like a sister, Mary Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her birth father, grandfather and grandmother Holton, and one unborn grandchild.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel.
