Cody Lee Rankenburg, age 32, passed away peacefully, December 28th, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Methodist Campus surrounded by his family, after a short battle with an illness.

Cody was born May 16, 1990, in Rochester, MN, to Steven and Lynn (Paulson) Rankenburg of Millville, MN.

Cody had a lifelong love of motorsports, a passion he shared with his two daughters. Farming was also a big part of his life growing up. He also loved the outdoors, especially being in the woods. He had fond memories of hunting and fishing with his late grandfather. He also loved people. He literally would not be able to go somewhere without running into someone he knew. He had a hard exterior, but the most gentle soul to those he loved.

Cody married Erin Albrecht on July 9, 2011, in Pine Island, MN. They had two daughters, Alexa and Sawyer.

He is survived by his wife and daughters, his parents, his sister, Ashlee (Jesse) Jacoby of Millville, MN, his two nieces, Laycee and Amelia, his maternal grandfather, Lyle (Cori) Paulson, and maternal grandmother, Lily Walsh.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Joan Rankenburg, his grandfather, Jim Walsh, and aunt, Lonna Smith.

There will be a fellowship/visitation held at the Plainview Legion Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2pm to 5 pm. A smaller family celebration will be held this summer.
