Daniel "Dan" "Gingus" Thomas Klann, 71, of Hammond, Minnesota passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home in Hammond. He was born on September 4, 1954, in Zumbrota, Minnesota to Clarence and Mary (Nield) Klann. Dan grew up attending elementary school in Douglas, Minnesota and Central Jr. High School in Rochester and graduated in 1972 from John Marshall High School. On September 17, 2004, he married Bonnie Gary at Shady Lake Park in Oronoco, after years of loving one another.

Dan lived in Hammond for many years and was always working with the City of Hammond, family and friends with whatever he could help with. He spent his working career in construction. Ending his career with Benike Construction of Rochester, Minnesota and retiring at the age of 55.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie M. Klann Gary of Hammond; a daughter Sarah (Jon) Heise of Rochester; a son Thomas Klann of San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren, Solomon, Raiven, Santanna, and Avalon Heise; two brothers, David (Connie) Klann of Douglas, and Richard Klann of Rochester; two brothers-in-law, Terry Runkel, Elmer Gary; sisters-in-law, Virginia Stevens and Donna Siefert; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rebecca Klann Runkel, his in-laws, Reuben and Doris Gary, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ray and Jean Schwirtz.

A visitation for Dan will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Rev. Jim Barnhart officiating. The burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Centergrove Cemetery in Douglas.
