Darlene Ann DeFrang, 59, of Rochester, passed away at her home on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born in Denver, CO on September 24, 1962, to Jeffrey and Betty (Reynolds) Dostal. She grew up in Deephaven, MN and attended school in Minnetonka, before moving to Zumbro Falls, and graduating from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1980. She went on to attend RCC and received her LPN Degree. Darlene married Scott Albrecht in 1978 and was later divorced. Later she married Larry F. DeFrang. She also attended Minnesota West Community & Technical College in Worthington and graduated in 2006.

Darlene was employed by Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester in the 1980's and 90's. Later she worked at ABC in Rochester. Most of her adult life she lived in Zumbro Falls, moving to Rochester 10 years ago. Darlene was a very caring and loving person, she loved people and animals and was a strong supporter of ASPCA. Darlene was a member of Hilltop Fellowship Church in rural Millville.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Jeanine (Josh) Larson of Red Wing; four grandchildren, Autumn Vietor, Teryn Vietor, Stella Vietor, and Arya Larson; her parents, Jeff and Betty Dostal of Rochester; a brother, Dan Dostal of Eden Prairie; aunts and uncles, Judy Pixler of Minneapolis, Gloria & Delvyn Wickenhauser of Norwood Young America and Beverly Winchester of Maryland; many wonderful cousins; and her beloved dog Willow. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, and maternal grandparents, Claude and Alice Reynolds, and paternal grandparents, Henry and Helen Dostal.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Hilltop Fellowship Church in rural Millville with Pastor John Curtiss officiating. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, October 3, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
