The funeral service for Darlene Paulson will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview with Pastor John Curtiss officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin.

Darlene Carol Paulson, 84, of rural Elgin, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.  Darlene was born June 9, 1934 in Rochester to Alfred and Josephine (Pickett) Stillman. She attended school at Rochester Public Schools.  On August 5, 1965 she married Haven Paulson in Sioux Falls, SD, and lived most of her life in Wabasha County.  She was the wife of a hard working farmer, managing farm life side by side with her husband.

The couple lived and farmed in rural Elgin, where they raised their four daughters.  She was employed by Mayo Clinic for many years as a Medical Secretary. Darlene was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, where she was very active.  She served as the chairman of the Mission Team, Session Member, and Deacon for many years; Coordinator of Interfaith Hospitality, House of Hope, and board member of Logos.  She started the Plainview Clothesline, and was the Angel Tree Coordinator.  Darlene delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped with many fundraisers, and served as a volunteer for Feed My Starving Children.  Darlene enjoyed spending time with family, music, reading, recipes, entertaining, and planning events.  She loved attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren.  She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, and always had a baby in her arms.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Haven Paulson of Elgin, four daughters, Tammy (David) Skyhawk of Chatfield, Sheri (Jeffrey) Webster of Elgin, Cynthia "Cindy" (Duane) Tri and Jennifer (Jason) Bye both of Eyota; 12 grandchildren, Jesse, Donavan, Justin, Justine, Michael, Alisha, Nicole, Ciara, Damon, Devon, Derek, and Dalton; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Zeitz of Spokane, WA, and a brother, Wayne (Carol) Stillman of Rochester.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
