David Leonard Johnson, 67, of Elgin, Minnesota passed away at his home on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1957, in Austin, Minnesota to Leonard and Phyllis (Jech) Johnson.

David grew up attending elementary school in Adams, Minnesota and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1975. After graduation he lived and worked in Rochester, Grand Meadow and Stewartville and then moved to Nehalem, Oregan and worked for the Neahring Dairy Farm. Later he moved back to Rochester.

On November 8, 1980, he married Debra Moore at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. After their marriage they moved to Branson, Missouri and operated the Table Rock Inn. In 1987 they moved back to Minnesota and David was employed by All America Co-op at Elgin, later he moved to their location in Viola and retired in 2022. David was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

David is survived by his wife, Debra Johnson, two daughters, Erin Johnson and Michele Johnson all of Elgin; four grandchildren, Noah, Isabel, Olivia, and Liam; and one brother, Douglas (Krista) Johnson of Nixa, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Amanda, and his mother and father-in-law, Wes and Janet Moore.

The funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Josh Moldenhauer officiating. The burial will follow the service in the Elgin Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
