Dean Vernon Wiebusch, 83, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 19, 2024, at his home. He was born February 18, 1941, in Lake City to Vernon and Bernita (Reynolds) Wiebusch. He grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959. On November 17, 1973, he married the love of his life Joyce Brehmer at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Lake City.

Dean lived most of his lifetime in the Lake City area. He was employed by Jewell Nursery, The Terrace Supper Club, Pirates Land, and DiAcro, all in Lake City, he was also employed at the Kahler Hotel in Rochester and at Hormel Foods in Plainview. Dean also worked as a civilian for the military in Alaska for several years. He was also employed at Treasure Island Casino for 20+ years prior to his retirement in 2016. During his free time, he enjoyed gardening, wood-working, was an avid sports fan, and loved time with his family. He was a member of The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Lake City.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Christin (Dale) Conroy of Red Wing, and son, Benjamin Wiebusch of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Megan and Nathan; and a sister, Sandy DeMarais of White Bear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and twin sister, Deanne.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The burial will follow the service at Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.
