Delores "Skinny" Elaine Plank, 91, of Elmwood, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Ellsworth Care Center in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. She was born on June 28, 1932, in Millville, Minnesota to Harry and Anna (Blattner) Shones. Delores attended Millville Elementary School and graduated from Plainview High School in 1952. On June 28, 1952, she married the love of her life Donald Plank at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville.
Delores was a homemaker busy raising their seven children while the family lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Georgia, Arizona, Alabama, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska while Donald worked construction. In 1970 they moved to Ellsworth and Bay City, Wisconsin area where they farmed and lived until 1986. After Donald passed away in 2008, Delores lived with her daughter in New York, Wisconsin, and Illinois until she returned to the Ellsworth area in 2019, where she lived with her other daughter until she entered assisted living in Hudson, WI. In January 2024 when she entered Ellsworth Care Center.
Delores is survived by her children, Suzanne "Susie" Holst of Elmwood, WI, Penny Sue (Michael) Myers of Ponca City, OK, Patricia (Norbert) Denzer of Port Byron, IL, Michelle Plank of Red Wing, MN; Michael (Natalie) Plank of Oracle, AZ, and Randy (Debra) Plank of New Auburn, WI; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Annie Shones, siblings, Francis Shones, Leroy Shones, Doris Wadley, and Rachel Hein; son-in-law, Mike Holst; her loving husband, Donald Plank and sweet little boy, Timmy.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 17, at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville. The burial will follow the service in the Millville Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
