Diane Marie Richardson, 68, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.  She was born May 27, 1951 in Elgin, Nebraska to Leland & Mary (Meis) Sprout.  Diane moved with her family to Lake City in 1958, and attended McCahill School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City.  On September 6, 1969 she married Daniel Richardson at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.

Diane worked at the Anchor Inn in Lake City before going to work at IBM in Rochester, and attending IBM School for Electrical Technician training.  Later she worked at Federal Mogul in Lake City for about 8 years, retiring in 2014.

Diane enjoyed spending her time gardening and mowing lawn, and loved her trips to go fishing in Canada.  The Richardson's were season ticket holders to Gopher Wrestling, which she truly enjoyed.  Diane loved gambling in Las Vegas, visiting with people especially people she didn't know.

Diane is survived by her husband, Daniel Richardson of Lake City; siblings, Dale (Dodie) Sprout of Plymouth, Don (Marie) Sprout of Leesburg, FL, Frank (Cindy) Sprout of Vining, MN, Jim (Marcia) Sprout and Ed (Cate) Sprout both of Lake City, Linda (Kurt) Blair of Elgin, NE, and Jolene (Tim) Peterson of Albertville; her loving dog, Sophie; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 30, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. with Bill Wohlers officiating, at the Frontenac Sportsman Club. Memorials preferred to St. Jude Hospital in lieu of flowers.
