The memorial service for Dona Vay Sprick will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor John Berg officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Sprick, 86, of Lake City, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City.

Dona Vay Feldges was born April 10, 1930 in Carthage, SD to George and Anna (Lowrie) Feldges. She attended elementary and high school in Lake City graduating from Lincoln High School in 1948, where she received the Patton Award at graduation. On June 28, 1950 she married Ernest Sprick in Lake City.

Dona lived most of her lifetime in the Lake City area. Dona and Ernest farmed in rural Lake City for many years on their Century Farm. She also worked at Federal Mogul Credit Union for approximately 30 years, and wrote a column called "The Rural Scene" for the Lake City Graphic for several years.

Dona enjoyed bowling and served as the City Bowling secretary for many years. She also belonged to a Birthday Club, loved to play cards and belonged to many card clubs. Dona also loved to tend to her beautiful flower gardens. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City.

Dona is survived by her son, Dale (Mary) Sprick of Lake City; three granddaughters, Nicole, Catherine, and Emily. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest on January 10, 2014, one brother, Bob, and one sister-in-law, Jean.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
