The memorial service for Donald Axley will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8th, at Church of Christ, 205 1st Street NE in Plainview with Pastor Charles G. Coggins officiating.

Mr. Axley, 64, of Viola, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his home in Viola.

Donald Ralph Axley was born March 14, 1949 in Rochester to John and Lillian (Burke) Axley. He attended school in Eyota and then went on to a Technical College in Tennessee. Donald lived in the Viola area most of his life. He worked at various sawmills grading lumber, he retired in 2013. Donald loved to go hunting, especially coon hunting, and enjoyed fishing.

Donald is survived by his three sons, Jody Axley of Plainview, Jason Axley of Viola, and Nathan Axley of Zimmerman; two grandchildren, Kayla Axley and Taylor Axley; his mother, Lillian Axley; a sister, Julie (Ron) Pauley, and a brother, Bill (Barb) Axley all of Florida. He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.
