A memorial service for Donald N. Ellringer will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview with Pastor John Curtiss officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Mr. Ellringer, 83, passed away Friday evening March 25, 2016 at St. Isadore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview, MN.

Donald "Don" Nicholas Ellringer was born March 24, 1933 in Whitewater Valley to Mike and Jennie (Smith) Ellringer. He attended elementary school in rural Winona County, near the Beaver/Elba area. On September 3, 1960 he married Barbara Lewis at the Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview. The couple lived in rural Plainview, where Don farmed for over 60 years. He also drove school bus for 38 years. Don enjoyed his work; he also liked gardening, deer hunting, and playing softball.


Don is survived by his wife Barbara of Plainview, MN; daughter, Patricia (Arlen) Gronseth of Rochester, MN; son, Thomas (Diane) Ellringer of Plainview, MN; grandchildren, Christy Dietz, Jenny Gronseth, Brett Ellringer and AJ Ellringer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family may visit from 4 – 7 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
