The funeral service for Donald E. Roberson will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7th, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Dr. Scott T. Fiege officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbro Falls Cemetery following the service and fellowship, with Military Rites by the Millville Valley American Legion Post #579.

Donald "Don" Eugene Roberson, 82, of Lake City and formerly of Zumbro Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center.

Don was born June 10, 1932 to Bruce and Florence (Rust) Roberson in his family's home that he lived in for much of his 82 years. He attended Gillford Township country school near his home, Zumbro Falls School, and Lincoln High School in Lake City. Don and Arlene Haggerty were married for 62 years, united in marriage on April 19, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Potsdam, MN.

Don served in the US Army for two years in 1957, he was stationed in North Carolina. He and Arlene then owned the grocery store in Millville before moving to the family farm and beginning Millville Plumbing and Excavating which he continued to work every day until he was forced to quit at the age of 80 because of failing health.

Don loved antique cars and tractors and had an extensive collection throughout the years. He enjoyed traveling across the world, daily morning coffee with his buddies, visiting with friends and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. Don loved his family deeply, taught them so much and will be greatly missed.

Don was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City. He was also a member of the Millville Valley American Legion Post #579, and served on the Zumbro Falls Cemetery Board for many years.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Roberson of Lake City; his children, cherished grandchildren, and 7.5 adored great-grandchildren; Gayle (Scott) Deobald of Zumbro Falls and their children, Jordan, Katie, Logan, and Clayton; Rhonda (James) Harkins of Lake City and their children, Emmy and Brody; Chad (Michelle) Roberson of Zumbro Falls and their children, Caleb, Luke, and Madelyn; Cindy (late Randy Roberson Austin and their children, Shawn Roberson and Randi Lee Austin; sisters, Dorothy Potterf of Yuma, AZ, and Virginia (Robert) Gunderson of Rochester; and brother, Frank Roberson of Millville. He was preceded in death by his children Mark, Donna Jean, and Randy, his parents, and brother, Robert.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6th, at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
