Obituary

The funeral service for Donald Q. Tradup will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22nd, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, MN with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin.

Mr. Tradup, 71, of Elgin, MN died Sunday evening, November 17, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.

Donald Quentin Tradup was born August 27, 1942 in Elgin, MN to Harold & Bernice (Brehmer) Tradup. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Elgin and graduated in 1960 from Elgin High School. On December 26, 1959 he married Kathie Munsch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Donald farmed in rural Elgin until 1988 when he retired from farming and then worked at various local agricultural businesses. He spent his entire lifetime in the Elgin area. Donald enjoyed sightseeing, going to threshing shows, and old machinery. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and sang in the choir. Donald was a former Elgin-Millville School Board member, and a friend of Bill W.

Donald is survived by his wife, Kathie Tradup of Elgin; three daughters, Anita (Tom) Werle of Rochester, Rochelle (Ray) Nelson of Duluth, Nicole (Keith) McGruder of Gardnerville, NV; three sons, Donald Joseph (Shelli) Tradup of Elgin, Craig (Lysa) Tradup of Oronoco, and Luke Tradup of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren, Derek, Trent, Quinn, Dylan, Andrew, Madi, Camron, Jadon, Brett, Derik, Tyler, Samantha, and Sydney; 6 great-grandchildren, Carter, Charlee, Maverick, Bennett, Maeson, and Paityn; one brother, Edward (Marjorie) Tradup of Brewster, WA; and one sister, Karen (Harry) Russell of Midvale, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Charlene Chance, Uncle Quentin, and great-grandson, Jackson.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21st, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, or Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
