Obituary

Donald A. "Don" Weller, 89, of Rochester, MN, peacefully passed into heaven Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family, at Cottagewood Senior Living.

Don was born in Broom County, New York on November 24, 1936. He graduated from Union Endicott High School and served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Dix, Fort Ord and Fort Gordon. Don married Janet Haag, the love of his life, April 4, 1959, at Our Lady of Good Council Church in Endicott, New York. Don and Jan moved to Minnesota where they raised their family in rural Eyota. They were privileged to share 67 happy years together. He was a devoted husband and family man.

Don worked at IBM in Rochester for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling and perfecting his golf swing and downhill skiing skills. Don always remained busy with house and yard projects, working on his cars, fishing with his friends and enjoying life. He was an active member of the Elks. His wit, humor, kindness and strong guidance will be missed; his family's love for him will never fade.

Together, Don and Jan would like to thank their children for all the care and love bestowed upon them during the good and hard times throughout their lives.

Survived by his wife, Janet Weller. Children: Rebecca Aaker (Ken), Thomas Weller (Judith), Lisa Roach (Mark), Cherie Weller, Brenda Petersohn (Tom), Susanna Weller (Glen) Grandchildren; Brandon (Paula), Dustin (Allison), Lacey, Edward (Savannah), Christine (Tobias), Brianna (Andrew), Jamie (Jacob), Benjamin (Kylie), Elainy, Channing (Noi), Gage, Raigen, Autumn, Esmee, Noah; and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur C. Weller and Beatrice Flaherty Weller and his sister, Elizabeth Weller (Clarke).

Visitation Saturday, April 11, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass to celebrate Don at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church ,18 SE 2nd Street in Eyota, MN, with Father Tim Reker officiating. Lunch to follow service. Following Mass, burial will be at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery at Eyota.
