The memorial service for Doreen A. Harteneck will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Harteneck, 86, of Lake City, died early Thursday morning, April 24, 2014 at the care center at Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City.

Doreen Ann Olson was born August 21, 1927 in Red Wing to Victor and Anna (Burns) Olson. She attended school in Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing High School in 1945. Following her graduation from high school Doreen worked at Citizens Fund Insurance for 4 years and then at Stickels Shoe Company in Red Wing for 4 years where she made army shoes. On July 15, 1950 she married Arthur Harteneck. After their marriage the Harteneck's moved to Lake City in 1950. Doreen was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lake City for 59 years. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the Minnesota Twins, and enjoyed bowling.

Doreen is survived by her husband of 63+ years, Arthur "Art" Harteneck of Lake City; five children, Dale (Wendy) Harteneck of South St. Paul, Craig (Debby ) Harteneck, Gary Harteneck and Lori (Larry) Fitschen all of Lake City, and Alan (Patricia) Harteneck of Red Wing; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28th, at First Lutheran Church in Lake City, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
