The funeral service for Doris I. Eddy will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 8th, at the Church of Christ in Plainview with Pastor Chuck Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery in Marion.

Mrs. Eddy, 82, of Plainview, passed away on Monday evening, February 2, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

Doris Isabelle Black was born June 28, 1932 in Kellogg to Frank and Jennie Black. She attended elementary school in Kellogg and graduated from Winona High School in Winona. Doris went on to attend Winona State University in Winona. She married Joseph Goetz on February 16, 1952 in Kellogg, and later divorced, she then married Earl Eddy on May 29, 1976 in Plainview.

Doris worked as a Certified Nurses Assistance at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Plainview, Mt. Caramel Nursing Home in Westfield, WI, and at Stewartville Care Center in Stewartville. She also worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart. Doris was a former member of the Church of Christ in Marion and currently a member of Church of Christ in Plainview.

Doris is survived by five daughters, Arlene (Randy) Baker of Pine Island, Joanne Klavetter and Dan Rogers of Zumbrota, Barbara (Gary) Schumacher and Susan (Terry) Meyers both of Plainview, and Sharon (Mike) Thompson of Leroy; one son, Randy Goetz of Rochester; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Donna, her two husbands, and one brother, Frank.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
