Dorothy Luella Adler's Obituary
The funeral service for Dorothy Adler will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15th, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 33685 Germania Street, in Frontenac with Pastor Stephen Kurtzahn officiating. Burial will be in the Frontenac Cemetery.
Mrs. Adler, 86, of Frontenac, passed away at home in Frontenac on Friday, April 10, 2015.
Dorothy Luella Haradon was born December 30, 1928 in Minnesota City, MN to Clarence and Pearl (Stephan) Haradon. She was baptized in Minnesota City, and moved to the Lake City area with her family where she attended and graduated from St. John's Lutheran School. Dorothy was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. On March 15, 1947 she married Arland Adler in Lake City.
Dorothy was employed by Durkee Atwood in Red Wing for 20 years; and then worked at Pepin Heights Orchard in Lake City for 15+ years, and was a janitor for St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac for 13 years. She retired when she turned 83, but still kept busy selling her homemade jelly and jams at the Farmers Market in Lake City. Dorothy was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frontenac.
Dorothy loved to go camping with her family, she also traveled a lot with her sisters, and loved their fishing trips. She enjoyed planting and caring for her garden and canning the produce for her family, and to sell at the farmers markets. Dorothy always said, "God blessed me with a very good life."
Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Gordon) Adler-Murphee of Fond du Lac, WI, Penny (Robert) Harvieux of Red Wing, and Sally Adler-Luna of Edina; three sons, Robert Adler of Red Wing, Frank Adler of Cannon Falls, and William (Wendy) Adler of Frontenac; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Harriet Krusmark of Millville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arland on February 27, 1978, five sisters, Delores Burns, Kathanean Haradon, Darlene Grogan, Hazel Duden, and Henrietta Eastman; one son, Richard, and one daughter Patricia Adler-Weichel.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Church on Wednesday.
