The memorial service for Dorothy Blattner will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19th, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor John Berg officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Blattner, 69, of Lake City, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the care center at Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City with her family by her side.

Dorothy Helen Plank was born on December 3, 1944 in Wabasha, to Herbert and Delores (Eastman) Plank. She attended school at the Jacksonville School in rural Wabasha County. On November 16, 1963 she married Leo Blattner at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. They had two daughters, Sherri and Lori.

Dorothy worked at the Apple House and at the Jewell Nursery in Lake City, and did day care for many families in Lake City. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. Dorothy loved to spend time with her family, enjoyed having people visit her, liked to play cards, and loved to visit casino's.

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Sherri (Wade) Raymond of Lake City, and Lori (Kurt) Stolpa of Winona; six sisters, Charlotte Plank of West Concord, Sharon (Robert) Henning, Nancy O'Flaherty, Elaine Halpaus, Kathy Roberts, and Shirley Meincke all of Lake City; five brothers, Raymond Plank, John (Janet) Plank of Lake City, Francis Plank , and Jim Plank both of Rochester, and Ronnie (Sue) Plank of Northfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, three sisters, Ellen Mae Plank, Virginia Henning, and Lois Beaham, three brothers, Eugene, Marvin, and Kenneth.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
