The funeral service for Dorothy Mischke will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Theilman.

Dorothy Elizabeth Mischke, 100, of rural Theilman, passed away Wednesday morning, July 11, 2018 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.  She was born March 31, 1918 in Scotch Prairie, in rural Lake City, to William and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Goihl. Dorothy attended rural school through the 8 ^th grade and graduated from McCahill School in Lake City.  On September 24, 1940 she married Julius Mischke in Theilman.

The couple farmed across the Zumbro River in rural Theilman.  Dorothy loved walking two miles a day, therefore never hospitalized for 100 years other than when giving birth to her four children.  She enjoyed playing cards, baking, and gardening.  She was a member of Roy's Wednesday night card club, and the Plainview Garden Club.  Dorothy was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church. Important in her life was her faith and her hour praying at adoration.  She also received the Bishop's Medal from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Theilman. Dorothy was a regular Wabasha County Fair displayer with breads, garden produce and other foods.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Delmar) Becker and Marian (Peter) Meyer both of Plainview; son, Larry (Judy) Mischke of Theilman; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mischke of Alden; ten grandchildren, Steve Becker, Andy Becker, Amy Casura, Kevin Meyer, Sheila Schultz, Benji Meyer, Heidi Cavagnetto, Wendy Mitchell, Kylee Coyour, and Brent Mischke;  and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Julius, son Walter, grandson Russell, and two brothers, Julius and Carl Goihl.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
