Obituary

The funeral service for Dorothy Schulz will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Dorothy Schulz, 77, of Plainview, was called home, into her Heavenly Father's arms, on Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2016. She passed away unexpectedly at her home.

Dorothy Helen Schreiber was born on May 5, 1939 in Winona County to Norman and Thelma (Fabian) Schreiber. She attended elementary school in rural St. Charles schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1957. On May 4, 1958 Dorothy married Duane A. Schulz in Plainview. The Schulz's farmed at Plainview all their lives. Dorothy was Duane's Right Hand all of their married life. She supported all of the organizations that Duane was active in.

Dorothy's hobbies included volunteering at Immanuel Lutheran Church; she baked all the pies for the Schreiber Christmas's; her specialty was old-fashioned graham cracker pie. She loved family gatherings, especially those that included her children and grandchildren. Nothing made Dorothy happier than driving the tractor or being on the lawn mower. She loved to entertain for dinner and a good card game. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Duane of Plainview; her son, Steve (Jodi) Schulz of Plainview; her daughter Connie (Bob) Walkes of Plainview; one sister, Deloris (Roy) Smith of Plainview; three brothers, Carl (June) Schreiber, Merle (Jean) Schreiber, and Merlin (Marian) Schreiber, all of Plainview; five grandchildren: Cole (Holly) Schulz, Cassandra (Dan) Byler, Kalli (Cam) Miller, Kyle (Gale Worthman) Schulz, Kasey Schulz; one great-grandchild is expected to arrive in November. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family may visit from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 26, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
