Obituary

A Memorial Mass for Earl Cain will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Richard Dernek officiating.  Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery.

Earl Cain, 82, of Plainview, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.

Earl Allen Cain was born in Elgin, MN to Willard and Marie (Radam) Cain.  He attended country school in rural Elgin.   On November 17, 1956 Earl married Maxine St. George at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester.  Earl was a true entrepreneur; he was a businessman, a fur trader, he owned Cain Masonry and owned/operated Cain Transport with his brother David, he also owned apartments.  Earl was a very generous person.  He had a great and deep love for his family and friends.   Earl met many diverse people and enjoyed everyone.  He enjoyed gopher trapping, ginseng hunting and buying, and especially traveling all over with Maxine.

Earl is survived by daughters; Carla (Gary) Folkert of Elgin, MN, Colleen Ihrke of Elgin, MN, Cindy (Steve) Hughes of Medina, MN; son, Curtis (Star Recore) Cain of Eyota, MN; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Sue) Cain of Elgin, MN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine and daughter, Vicky, brother Robert, sisters Rosemary, Irene, Ruthann and infant sister Janet.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Schleicher Funeral Home in Plainview, and one hour prior at the church.  A rosary service will be at 6:30 P.M. Monday led by the family.
