Eileen Marie Spring, 81, of Lake City, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 22, 2020 at Mayo Clinic – Red Wing Hospital. She was born May 7, 1939 in Ostrander, MN to Alvin and Ethel (Swenson) Larson. She was baptized in May of 1939 and confirmed in May of 1953 at Bloomfield Lutheran Church in Ostrander. Eileen attended a country school near Chester, IA through the 8 ^th grade, and then graduated from LeRoy High School in 1957. On October 25, 1958 she married Maynard Spring at Bloomfield Lutheran Church.

The Spring's lived in Rochester for 15 years before moving near Oak Center in 1974. Eileen was employed by Mayo Clinic for 40 years. She loved to spend time playing the piano and music of any kind. She also loved photography, writing stories, her own song lyrics, and poetry. Eileen loved flowers and tending to her gardens, she was a lover of the country and watching and caring for the animals, especially her dog, Nikkie. Eileen enjoyed and cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Eileen was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Eileen is survived by her children, Michelle (Kevin) Hartnett of Cambridge; Steven Spring of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Dean Spring of Brooklyn Center; five grandchildren, Jason, Matt, Justin (Michelle), Ben and Kallan; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nadine, and Caswell; a brother, Dr. David (Shelly) Larson of Harmony, and sisters, Karen (Julian) Brusse and Janis Speer both of Rochester, and Dianne (Adrian) Roberts of Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Roger.

A funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with Pastor Anjanette Bandel and Dr. David Larson co-officiating. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin. Masks are required at all services, and please practice social distancing.

Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital and Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.
