The funeral service for Eilert G. Muller will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 222 6th Avenue SW in Rochester with Pastor Nathaniel R. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
Mr. Muller, 89, of rural Hammond/Rochester, passed away Tuesday evening, July 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Eilert George Muller was born June 13, 1928 in Farmington Township, Olmsted County, to George and Amelia (Wegner Schwanke) Muller. He attended rural Olmsted County schools. On January 23, 1950 he married Arlene Mickow in Waverly, IA.
Eilert lived his entire lifetime in the Rochester area where he farmed. He also was a Rochester Farmers Mutual Insurance Company agent and director for nearly 50 years. Eilert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Eilert is survived by his loving wife of 67 ½ years, Arlene Muller, two sons, Terry (Sharon) Muller of Oronoco, and Steve (Holly) Muller of Altura; a daughter, Linda Muller Greening of Rochester; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a step-sister, Lois Haney of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents, two step-brothers, Leonard and Edwin Schwanke.
Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at the church.
