Elthea "Thea" Braun Schultz, 95, of Elgin, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. She was born on September 15, 1928, in Courtland, MN to Henry and Lily (Sieman) Braun. Thea graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1946 in Wood Lake, MN and went on to attend Mankato State Teachers College, graduating in 1950. On September 26, 1953, she married Ardell Schultz in Wood Lake, MN.

Thea began her teaching career in River Forest, IL where she taught for a brief time. After marriage the Schultz's lived in Plainview where she taught at Immanuel Lutheran School and at the Plainview Community Schools for several years.  She loved to paint ceramics and taught ceramic classes. Thea also loved to spend time sewing for herself and family.

Thea was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview and later after moving to Elgin she attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Thea is survived by her two daughters, Pamela "Pam" (Jim) Foster of Polk City, IA, and Tamara "Tammy" (Doug) Schultz-Fugh of Burnsville; two granddaughters, Lauren Fugh and Erin Fugh; and a brother, Jerry (Liane) Braun of Jamestown, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ardell in 1995, and an infant son, and seven siblings.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, May 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel. The burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.
