Eugene C. Ogle, 90, of Plainview, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview. He was born January 16, 1924 in Cherry County, Nebraska to Charles and Jessie (Vian) Ogle. He grew up and attended rural Nebraska schools. Eugene also served in the National Guard in Wyoming. On August 15, 1988 he married Mildred "Millie" Hutchinson in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Eugene worked for Owl Inn Restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 12 years and then was employed by various ranchers in Wyoming. He also enjoyed woodworking, reading the Bible, and composed many poems. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Millie Ogle of Plainview; one son, Eugene (Winnie) Ogle, Jr. of Utah; one daughter, Lynn Jones, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and two step-daughters, Penny Ann Faber of Mazeppa and Sherry Lynn Wegner of Rochester; 33 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Joy Parker of Kadoka, South Dakota, Gertrude Case of Portland, Oregon, and Rosely Sanks of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and one brother, Ted (Carol) Ogle of Palm Springs, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, one sister, and three brothers.
Eugene wished to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
