Obituary

Evelyn "Evy" Elizabeth Tradup, 91, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday evening, December 30, 2025, at Cottage Wood Senior Communities in Rochester. She was born on October 9, 1934, in Clam Falls, Wisconsin to George and Hilda (Johnson) Warner. She was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church in October 1934.  Later her family moved to the Dover, Minnesota area where Evy graduated from Dover High School in 1952.

In July of 1952 Evy became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in Elgin. On July 19, 1952, she married the love of her life Paul Tradup at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin. To this union they were blessed with six children.

Evy was employed by the Plainview High School from 1970 – 1980 as a secretary/aid in the Social Studies Department.

Evy's faith was a very important part of her life. The Tradup family joined the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester in 1958, where Evy sang with the church choir for 40 years, taught Sunday School for over 8 years, and participated in the Adult Bible Classes, Redeemers Quilters, and Sarah Circle. She was also a charter member of the Viola Gopher Gals Homemakers, and served as the secretary, vice-president and president of the club in the early 1980's.

Of all the wonderful earthly gifts the Lord has bestowed upon Evy, her husband and children are the most prized gifts, and they gave her the most pleasure. She would like to be remembered with love and a warm smile as a good wife and good parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent, and a good friend. Also, for her love of life both earthly and eternal, and beauty of nature.

Evy is survived by her children, Carol (Craig) Elliott of Golden Valley AZ, Steven (Jan Lovejoy) Tradup of Eyota, James "Jim" (Denise) Tradup of Birchwood, WI, Susan (Dave) Peterson of Paso Robles, CA, David (Diane) Tradup of Eyota, and Mark (Sherri) Tradup of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Gene and Jerry Warner, and two grandchildren.

The memorial service for Evy will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 1:00 p.m. at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Pastor Josh Moldenhauer officiating. Friends and family may visit on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
