The funeral service for Evelyn E. Kruger will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine and Pastor Nathaniel Schwartz co-officiating.  Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Evelyn Ellen Kruger passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.  She was born February 14, 1926 in Elgin Township, Wabasha County the second of four children to John and Ella (Wandrey) Ernst.  She graduated in 1947 from Elgin High School.  On December 14, 1947 she married Norman Kruger at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Evelyn worked at Mayo Clinic in the Records Department before her marriage.  After her marriage she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's firm, Kruger Welding.  Evelyn was also a very busy homemaker cooking for her family, sewing, knitting, and using her gardening skills that are legendary.  She loved to play cards and socializing with her friends.  She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester and formerly a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.  Evelyn also was a very active church volunteer over the years.  Evelyn lived her lifetime in the Plainview area until moving to Rochester in 2013.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 70+ years, Norman Kruger of Rochester; children, Marilyn (Robert) Zygmunt of Wayzata, Russ (Kathy) Kruger of Spring Park, Chuck (Julie) Kruger of St. Cloud, Bill (Stephanie) Kruger of Eden Prairie, and Bruce (Kelly) Kruger of Oronoco; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Vernon, Donald, and Bob, and 1 grandchild, Theodore.
