Florence Marie Lambrecht, 99, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester. She was born October 10, 1920 in Castleton, ND to William and Georgia (Welchin) Sawinski. She attended school at Trinity Lutheran School in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School. On June 22, 1941 she married Reuben Lambrecht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.
After marriage the Lambrecht's farmed in rural Eyota, where they raised their seven children. Florence also worked at Lakeside Foods in Plainview. She was active in her church teaching religion classes at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. In 1977 they moved to Bow String, MN where they enjoyed their quiet dream life on the lake, and Florence was a cook at a resort in Northern MN for many years. Florence and Reuben also served the Lord through Laborers for Christ where they traveled across the United States, building at least eleven mission churches, expanding the Kingdom of Christ. In 2019 Florence moved back to Plainview. Florence enjoyed hummingbirds, going fishing, spending time working in her flower gardens, sewing and doing craft projects, and especially playing the piano.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Linda (Dennis) Tesmer of Lake City, and Nancy (Greg) Garin of Brainerd; four sons, Roland "Rollie" (Ann) Lambrecht of Rochester, John (Nancy) Lambrecht of Deer River, MN, Joe (Carol) Lambrecht of Talmoon, MN, and Charles "Chuck" (Tricia) Lambrecht of Beaverville, IL; 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reuben on May 28, 2016, a son Steven, a sister Lois Nordine, and a grandson Scott.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Christian Life Center in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Oakhill Cemetery at Viola. Family requests that everyone wears a mask for the visitation and service, and practice the COVID-19 social distancing.
