Obituary

Franklin Thomas Ohm (Tommy), 74, of Elgin, Minnesota passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Frank was born on April 15, 1947, in Wabasha, Minnesota to Franklin P. and Betty (Roland) Ohm. Frank grew up in Elgin, Minnesota, and graduated from Elgin High School in 1965. He joined the Army Reserves in 1966 and served for 6 years. He married Charlotte Wehrs in 1972 in Elgin and were happily married for 49 years.

After high school Frank worked on the family farm in rural Elgin his entire life until retiring. He enjoyed hunting fox and deer, science fiction and history, playing cards, and Godzilla films. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Ohm of Elgin; his sons, Franklin E. (Kathy) Ohm of Rochester, and Andy (Amy) Ohm of Minnesota City; his grandchildren Ava, Nolan, Addison, and Cole; his brothers and sisters, Leilani (Albert) Zomok, Jerry (Bonnie) Ohm, Ted Ohm, Ronald (Sherie) Ohm, Elsie (Ron) Slinger, and Tony (Toni) Ohm; and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin P and Betty Ohm.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Elgin Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers for the service will be Frank Ohm, Andy Ohm, Laura Mediger, Brandon Ohm, Dustin Ohm, and Jenna Maker.
