A Celebration of Life Service for Frederick "Fred Junior" Ohm will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview with Pastor Charles G. Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin.

Mr. Ohm, 86, of Rochester, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home in Rochester.

Frederick Ohm, Jr. was born June 15, 1927 in Zumbro Falls, to Frederick and Wihelmina (Sievers) Ohm, Sr. He attended Dale School in rural Zumbro Falls. On September 1, 1948 he married Irene Liebenow in Millville. Fred loved working the land and farmed in Haverhill Township, Olmsted County, for 72 years. He was a very progressive farmer who loved the land, he received The Isaac Walton Award for Conservation in farming.

Fred was a renowned baseball and softball pitcher in the Plainview/Elgin area playing on many teams. He was also a very loyal Twins and Viking fan. Fred enjoyed going hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, reading, and he loved to visit Casino's. His favorite thing was his family, he enjoyed spending time and being with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene Ohm of Rochester; two daughters, Penny (Joe) Bianchi of Elgin, and Barbara (Tom) Sell of Breezy Point; four grandchildren, Greg (Jen) Sell, Jerry (Alina) Sell, Tom (Ashley) Bianchi, and John Bianchi; four great-grandchildren, Xavier, Natalie, Amelia, and Camille Sell; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Ohm of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and four sisters.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22nd, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
