Obituary

Marlene Jose, 88, of Plainview, was called into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. Marlene was born April 17, 1933, in Winnebago, MN to Walter and Hazel (Doolittle) Hervey. She attended country school through the 5 th grade in rural Winnebago and graduated from high school in Huntley, MN in 1951. Following graduation, Marlene worked in the doctor's office in Winnebago until marrying and becoming a mother and homemaker.

Marlene loved the Lord with all her heart and touched many lives with her kindness, and gentle ways. She lived in many places in Minnesota including Winnebago, Sunburg, Alexandria, and finally made her home in Plainview. In each of those communities, she found a church family and sought out ways to help, encourage, or just listen. She loved to be involved by teaching Sunday school, serving in the kitchen, and loved caring for the babies in the nursery. Marlene enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and tending her chickens, but she took greatest delight in time with her family and friends. When Marlene moved to Plainview, she quickly found Trinity Evangelical Free Church where she enjoyed worshipping her Savior with new friends, hosting women's Bible study, and serving at church however she could.

Marlene is survived by her children, Edward (Laura Sterling) Jose of Glenwood, MN; Ken (Jeannette) Jose of Newalla, OK; and DeAnn (Mark) Hatleli of Elgin; and a grandchild, Jess (Zach) Click. Through the marriages of her children, Marlene gained more grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy. She is also survived by a sister, Angeline (Royce) Jones of Johnston, IA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Dwight; sister, Marvis; and brother, Russell.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview with Pastor Tyrone Spenst officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church and stay for lunch following. The burial service will be on Thursday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Nashville Township Cemetery by Winnebago, MN with Pastor Daren Barnett officiating. Coffee at Foundations Bible Church, to follow.
